Cheeky Wipes

Wotsit?
A system of reusable wipes to replace disposable ones.

Like?
Yup - love!  At first I thought: hmmm, a couple of plastic boxes and some mini cloths (well, and some other bits too), but having started using them I'm v happy.  This is a well designed system.  It is very easy and effective.

Basically, your clean wipes go in one plastic box with a solution (you get drops to put in water) and your dirties, in another box with a solution (more drops provided).  The mucky box has a mesh bag to go in it, so you don't have to touch all the dirties again when you're putting them in the washer.  There's also a travel system: two mini drawstring wetbags.  Again, the mucky bag has a removable (zip-in/out) mesh bag.

I wish I'd found these with my first.  I would have saved myself a lot more money!  I would recommend them even if you're not going to use washable nappies, because they're so easy and you can just toss them in with your normal wash (30-60 degrees).

What's the damage?
Well, the full kit is - gulp! - 35GBP.  It does seem quite a lot, especially when you pay postage and you might want to buy an extra pack of wipes too.  However, you do save money in the long run.  The website reckons you could save 200GBP in the first 2 years...  Hmmm, not sure about that, especially if you're buying from the Pound Shop/Asda's own, but even so...  And if you have more than one bubba, it'll definitely be a big save (not to mention more environmentally friendly).  Also, if you're cloth nappying, you can buy a smaller kit - without the wet bag/box bits cos you'll have that already - and that's a happier 21GBP.
You could probably put together your own kit for less (though it is good quality and v functional - love the travel system), but... would you???  I would've had good intentions and then reached for the cotton wool (with my first) or wipes (with my second)!
